Sometimes you want some variety. So today I will show you how to change the VKontakte background without any problems. One very wonderful extension will help us with this. So, let's go!

But that is not all. First, let's look at the capabilities of this add-on. By clicking on it with the left mouse button, the settings will open. In principle, there is nothing particularly important here, but there is one interesting point - “Transparency”. Try setting it halfway, then save the result and see how your page will look now. In my opinion, it is much better with a little transparency. What do you think?
Change picture
All this is great, of course, but one question arises. Is this the only picture that can be placed in the background? This is the default image, but we have the right to change it to absolutely any image that we find on the Internet.
To do this, you can go, for example, to Yandex or Google, and enter a query there for the desired picture, for example, “Wallpaper for your desktop.” It is best to search for pictures that match the resolution of your monitor, so you can add it to the search bar.
After that, go to the picture and select one of them. Done? Well done. Now just right-click on the picture and select “Save as VKontakte background.”
There is no need to do anything else. The image will immediately be placed on the background with all transparency preserved. This way you can make this social network more vibrant and the design new and fresh.
Of course there are other ways to set a new topic. For example, you can go to the website vktema.ru and download a program for installing themes. But I am somehow wary of such external programs related to social networks. Installing the add-on is much safer. So if you want to use this method, use it at your own risk.

So, open the web application. You'll see tabs with tools for creating themes on the left side of the window and a preview area on the right.
This constructor allows you to create themes in a semi-automatic mode. But you can also customize everything manually so that the result completely suits your taste.
1. Easy way
The point is this: you upload any image you like into the constructor, and ThemeBeta uses it as the main background for the new theme and automatically adjusts all the design colors to it.
To add your own image, under the Basic tab, click Upload an Image and select the desired image on your computer. Then, to have the editor customize the theme colors, click Generate Colors.
If you are satisfied with the result, click Pack and Install and confirm downloading and then adding the theme to Chrome. The browser immediately activates the new design.
If, after automatic setup, you want to change colors or add separate backgrounds for different theme elements, you will need tools under other tabs. More details about them are in the next paragraph of the article.
2. Advanced method
This method involves manually setting backgrounds and text colors for a new theme.
To select pictures or colors as backgrounds for various design elements, use the tools under the Images tab. Just hover your cursor over any tool, and in the window on the right the designer will show which part of the theme it changes. For example, NTP Background is used to configure the main background. And Tab Background allows you to select the background of the site header.
Once you've figured out the backgrounds, you can customize the text colors in the Colors tab. Everything works the same way here. There is a list of tools, point at any of them - and in the window on the right you will see what it is responsible for.
When you're done with the backgrounds and text colors, open the Pack tab and click Pack and Install to download and apply your chosen theme.
In addition, you can always choose and install one of the many ready-made themes from the ThemeBeta database or the official Google catalog. If in the future you want to return to the standard design, go to Chrome settings and opposite the “Themes” item, click “Default scale”.

Opening at startup
Anyone who uses Chrome as a browser knows that when you launch it, a panel of previously visited sites appears by default. And these are not even Opera bookmarks, but simply previously visited sites.
