Android Studio Emulator is an emulator for developers.
Free

Download Android Studio Emulator

Android Studio is an IDE (integrated development environment) for Android recommended by Google. This environment has a large set of development tools specifically for Android. And, of course, the program has a built-in emulator so that you can test the developed application or game.

We can say for sure that this program is unlikely to be suitable for those who want to play games or who need an ordinary “consumer” emulator. However, for developers this is a real godsend, a powerful and at the same time free environment with the ability to test on the fly.

Installing this emulator is quite a headache, but once you install and configure it, and then understand all the features, you most likely will not need anything else.

Bluestacks 3 is the most popular emulator.
There are free and paid ($2/month) versions

Download Bluestacks 3

Bluestacks is the most popular Android emulation program on your computer. According to the developer, Android applications are launched more than a billion times a month on Bluestacks! And there are several reasons for this. To begin with, we can mention that there are versions for Windows and for Mac. They were the first to make a multi-platform emulator that worked well. Mainly BlueStacks aimed at gamers. Early versions were a bit bloated and complex. The latest version (#3) was released in 2017 and differs from the previous ones in that it is noticeably simpler and faster. At the same time, it allows, for example, to work in multitasking mode and run several applications. You can even run multiple versions of the same game at the same time. In addition, the application supports assigning hotkeys in games. Agree, for many games this can be a very good bonus. Although Bluestacks 3 is noticeably faster than previous versions, it still remains too bloated and overloaded when compared to Andy or Remix.

And yet, those who choose an emulator for games should take a closer look at Bluestacks 3.
If you want something simpler and faster, choose something else. Even though Bluestacks is number 1, there is still a choice.

AMIDuOS is a relatively new emulator.
There is a free trial version and two paid versions ($10 and $15)

Download AMIDuOS

AMIDuOS is a relatively new emulator for Windows (Win 7, 8 and 10 are supported). Android version can be: Lollipop and Jelly Bean. Just the version of the program with Jelly Bean costs $10, and the version with Lollipop costs $15. And it seems like this is the only difference. The good news is that these are one-time payments and not monthly payments.

AMIDuOS is tailored to fulfill various needs (not just games). Its main feature is high performance. Therefore, this emulator will be a good choice for office or home needs. For example, for Instagram, Telegram... The emulator does not have any special features for games, but games run relatively well on it. Developers can use AMIDuOS for some simple tests, but it is unlikely to be suitable for more complex use. In general, on the whole, AMIDuOS is a good program and deserves attention.

Do a trial to see if it suits you or not.

Andy is one of the best emulators for games.
Free

Download Andy

Next on our list is a completely free emulator called Andy. It appeared quite a long time ago and at the time of its appearance it was full of bugs and various surprises. However, a lot of time has passed since then, and the developers did not waste it: today there are practically no bugs, and the program itself is an excellent lightweight alternative to such monstrous emulators as Bluestacks. On Andy you can run the entire gamut of Android applications. And although Andy is more focused on non-gaming use, you can play on it just fine. Whatever one may say, the emulator is free and works well.

In addition, Andy has a significant advantage: applications can be launched as root.

Available for Windows and Mac. Below is a video comparing Bluestacks and Andy (in English).

Remix OS Player is a fresh update for gamers.
Free

Download

Remix OS Player (developed by Jide) is one of the newest PC emulators on the list. And this is the only emulator at the moment that works on the Android version of Marshmallow instead of Lollipop or Kit Kat. The installation process is very simple. The program is also quite easy to use. Mostly Remix aimed at gamers. Inside the program there is a convenient sidebar where you can change the emulation settings.

Due to the fact that the program is relatively new and free, the developers continue to catch some bugs. That said, Remix is better than many on our list and performs relatively well. And besides, it's free.

Weak spots: Remix OS Player only works on Windows 64-bit (7 and above) and does not support AMD processors.

ARChon is an emulator add-on for Google Chrome.
Free

Download ARChon
ARChon ARChon is not an ordinary emulator. Simply because it is not a program at all. This is an add-on for Google Chrome. You install this extension in Chrome and after that you can launch Android applications directly in the browser. Sounds cool, right? In theory, yes, but in practice, installing the extension can turn into a real pain. Here are the installation instructions. Perhaps she can help. If you don't have minimal technical skills, then it might not be worth trying.

You need to install this extension (in developer mode). And then you need to convert the APK of the required application using their utility into a format that will work in Chrome with the ARChon extension enabled. Sounds complicated? Then don't try it. If you want to dig in, it might not be that difficult.

The extension works on Windows, Mac and even Linux. This is perhaps the most difficult emulator to install and configure. But also the most unique of its kind.

Genymotion is a fast emulator for developers.
Free for personal use (with paid options)

Download Genymotion

This option is more suitable for developers. It allows you to test your application on many different devices without owning them. You can select in the Genymotion parameters the device and version of Android on which you want to launch. For example, you can choose a Nexus One with Android 4.2 installed or a Nexus 6 with Android 6.0 installed. And at the same time, you can switch between devices on the fly.

Genymotion is not the most user-friendly program for consumer needs. But this is a bomb emulator for developers. In addition, the program is shareware for personal use. And only for those who really need it, paid options arise.

Droid4X is a simple emulator for games.
Free

Download Droid4X

Droid4X has its pros and cons. And for many people and their needs, it is not an ideal emulator.

However, it suits most people due to its ease of installation and simple, uncluttered design. In addition, Droid4X was originally created for gamers. Therefore, the program is focused mainly on emulating games that are not graphically complex. In principle, you can try to run something more heavyweight on it.

But remember that the program is a little outdated. So far, the emulator download page is live, but apparently, the developers stopped updating the program a long time ago.

In general, download at your own risk: the emulator may be buggy. Yes, there seems to be a version for Mac somewhere in nature, but it seems impossible to find it.

KoPlayer is for gamers.
Free

Download KoPlayer

KoPlayer is one of the new products. Perhaps that is why it has not yet enjoyed the popularity it deserves. This emulator is aimed mainly at gamers. The program supports assigning hotkeys in games. In addition, KoPlayer supports a feature such as gameplay recording. So, streamers and game bloggers, take it into account. The installation process is quite simple and the emulator itself seems to work without errors. Although there are bug reports on the forums. But this is again a tribute to novelty.

Overall, KoPlayer is a good choice. And not only for games, but also for everyday use (for example, for Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.). But for now there are bugs in it. There will probably be fewer of them in future versions, unless the developers abandon their creation.

MEmu – supports Intel and AMD.
Free

Download MEmu

MEmu is another newcomer in the list of emulators that has just entered the scene. But it has already won the hearts of users. The main feature of MEmu is that it supports not only Intel processors, but also AMD ones. If you think that this is not that rare, then it is not. So if you have AMD, feel free to download MEmu.

MEmu emulates several versions of Android: Jelly Bean, Kit Kat and Lollipop. Additionally, multitasking is supported and you can run multiple applications at the same time. In fact, there aren't many emulators that offer Lollipop multitasking.

MEmu supports most games and applications. However, I recommend using it not for gaming.

NoxPlayer (bignox) – a bomb emulator for gamers (in Russian).
Free

Download NoxPlayer

NoxPlayer is an emulator created specifically for gamers. It contains utilities and settings to improve your experience with the game. For example, in addition to the keyboard, the use of gamepads is supported. And it supports various native gestures (such as “swipe right”), which can be assigned to buttons on the keyboard or joystick. In general, this is cool and, apparently, it works like a charm.

The program is free. There is a version for Windows and for Mac. Supports gaming at 60 fps.
If you are looking for a powerful Android emulator for games, download Nox, you won’t regret it!

YouWave is a dinosaur.
There are free and paid ($29.99) versions

Download YouWave
YouWave YouWave is one of the oldest Android emulators for PC. He is already many years old, really. And although the last update was in 2016, it is still slightly outdated. The free version of the emulator uses Ice Cream Sandwich. If you pay $29.99 for the paid version of the program, you will get a Lollipop emulator.

Overall, the emulator works well and without any glitches. Installation is also easy.

And although YouWave does not have any special options for gamers (for example, assigning hot keys or native gestures), you can still play on it. Perhaps this emulator will appeal to developers, especially beginners.

There is a version of YouWave for Mac.

VirtualBox Party Generally speaking, this is not just an Android emulator, it is an emulator of any operating systems. Like all DIY on this list, installation and setup requires technical skills. Therefore, if they are not there, then look at emulators “out of the box”.

Ok, that's how it works. You need to download the VirtualBox file for your OS (Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris) from the link above. Then you need to download the Android image from the Android-x86.org website. And then you need to install the Android OS image into the virtual machine. Get ready for the fact that the likelihood that it will work out right away is not so great. If this doesn’t work, then you need to “smoke” specialized forums and search the Internet for step-by-step guides. Write in the comments if such a guide should be made. If we have to, we'll do it.

To summarize, this emulation option is suitable for geeks and old-school programmers.
What advantages does it have then, you ask? In fact, there are a lot, and the main one is that you can install absolutely any version of Android and configure absolutely everything. Full customization.

Download Xamarin

Xamarin is an IDE (integrated development environment) that is similar to Android Studio in many ways. The difference is that Xamarin can connect to a monstrous development environment like Microsoft Visual Studio.

Just like Android Studio, Xamarin has a built-in emulator for developers.

Xamarin is a tool for developers. Although theoretically it may be suitable for you for personal use if you want to customize the entire Android infrastructure for yourself. Xamarin is not as powerful as Genymotion, but it can handle all applications at once.

Xamarin runs on Windows. It is free for personal use.
Development teams and companies can choose different pricing plans.

Windroy Windroy is a classic. This is one of the oldest emulators in history. Due to this, it is difficult to recommend it to anyone.

Use it only if you have completely lost hope and newfangled programs cannot solve your problems.

There is an opinion that Windroy works better on older versions of Windows (for example, XP).

Windroy is more about non-game applications, such as office ones. Games on it can only be played by those as ancient as itself. And that's a stretch.

On the other hand, the emulator is free. And it installs quite easily.

If you (suddenly) have Win XP, install Windroy.

As a conclusion

Above are all the best Android emulators for PC currently available online. By and large, they are all good in their own way and it is up to you to decide on the choice. Compare the stated features and choose the one that best suits your needs. You need to understand that there is no one program that is ideal for everyone. One is good for a developer, the other is good for a gamer, and the third is good for a Telegram channel admin. But I can definitely recommend not to rush into buying paid versions of programs. Install the trial, play with the settings and only then switch to the premium version.

On a personal computer/laptop with the Windows operating system, you can run Android OS for mobile devices in a variety of ways. However, some of them require complex initial settings, others differ in functionality, and still others - in performance. An Android emulator can run on the Windows operating system for various reasons. But usually ordinary users want to see how software for mobile devices works, and developers run emulators on personal computers to test their applications. There is a third category of users - avid gamers. These run emulators on computers to play interesting games designed for smartphones and tablets.

If you are a curious user or an experienced player, download the Android emulator for OS Windows. We will tell you and clearly demonstrate how to launch mobile applications in several ways in this article. Products for mobile devices are launched on computers not only using programs for emulating Android OS. For example, you can install the Android operating system on a PC, run it in the Chrome browser from Google or from a flash card.

Nox App Player

Our users have left positive reviews about Nox App Player, calling it the best program for Android emulation on Windows. After extensive testing, we came to the same conclusions and recommend everyone to use this emulator. We are even sure that you will stop at it and will not want to install or test other emulation programs, well, except for inquisitive users who always want to form their own opinion. The Nox App Player emulation program is compatible with all new versions of Windows, and we tested it on the “top ten”, installing it on a regular, not the most powerful laptop computer.

The emulator is easy to install and starts in about two minutes. After launch, you will see the loading screen of the Android operating system, which will have a pre-installed mobile browser and file manager. The emulation program itself does not support the Russian language, but you can enable it in the OS itself. This happens the same way as on your mobile device.

When you first start it, you may see an unusual screen resolution. But these are initial settings intended for tablets, and they can be changed to more convenient and familiar ones. In order to do this, click the gear, calling up settings, and set your screen parameters. On the same tab you can change performance parameters (by default they are set to low levels). Looking ahead: these settings do not need to be changed, since even with such low performance, the emulation program works perfectly.

The Nox App Player emulator is controlled in the same way as on any mobile device with Android OS. You type using an on-screen keyboard, sound and a camera, if present, works like on a smartphone, there is also an application store where you can find and install a variety of applications and toys.

The right side of the emulation program window can be opened to full size without loss of quality. Here are all the icons with which you can perform actions, for example:

  • Install a variety of mobile applications stored in a special folder.
  • Change your location manually.
  • Upload and export files (in the usual way or by “dragging” onto the program window).
  • Take a variety of screenshots (screenshots).
  • Launch several emulation program windows at once.
  • And we have listed only the main actions.
This is how the Nox App Player emulator works, which we recommend for running mobile applications and games on Windows, using the Instagram service and other tasks. At the same time, the emulation program works quickly, efficiently, and efficiently. You can complement our review by testing the emulator more fully, for example, running a demanding game with 3D graphics.

If your Nox App Player emulation program does not start, firstly, check that the processor supports hardware virtualization technology, and secondly, set the correct settings in the BIOS. And if this does not help to launch the emulator, rename your name and directory by entering the letters of the English alphabet.

The MEmu emulator of the Android operating system has become the most popular program in recent times. Using MEmu, you can open applications designed for gadgets on personal computers, phones, laptops, and tablets, and the performance of the emulating device in games will be many times higher than previous examples of flagship tablets and smartphones. Actually, then you can download the Android emulator in Russian for free on PC WIndows 7, 8, 10 and install the application.

MEmu software was created on the basis of Windows and is intended for various computers. At the moment, the number of users of this application is increasing, and therefore its popularity is growing, which is why engineers were faced with the task of translating the software into all the most commonly used languages in the world, including Russian.

To install the utility, you need the smallest system requirements. The program runs on any version of the operating system, starting with XP3, but the speed of operation is directly proportional to the performance of your PC. It will work faster with a processor that supports virtualization. You also need at least 1 GB of RAM and at least 2 GB of free disk space.

The functional abilities of MEmu have a fairly wide range:

  • the desktop of this program is absolutely identical to that on your device;
  • simple accessible setup and the ability to bind keys to a keyboard or joystick;
  • The function of recording video from the MEMU screen is available;
  • free access to watch TV channels;
  • mode change function;
  • The application has built-in macros;
  • GPS modeling, and in the new update it is possible to use the keyboard to change the GPS speed and detect the coordinates of the IP address, for this you only need to download the GPS adapter;
  • possibility for simultaneous cloning of several Android OS.

It follows that the emulator will simulate the Android OS on a personal computer. Typically, this feature is useful when trying out different programs, but this app also allows you to play your favorite games and run programs that won't open in Windows.

An Android emulator on a PC is a program that is designed to create an Android device on your personal computer with any other operating system. The principle of its operation is to read the structural features of devices and translate game codes for smartphones into codes for computers. The code list includes both audio and graphic formats. The emulation process itself extends to memory, processor, and input and output devices. Please note that the same type of processor does not play any role in the operation of the emulator.

Bluestacks

With this emulator you will get an Android device with 16GB of internal memory and 32GB of external memory (SD). This app is also great for app developers. There is an application testing system and an excellent base for ordinary users. The technical characteristics that the application will require for full operation and high performance are not high, which any standard computer can satisfy.

Andy

Emulator Andy

One of the newest emulators that is capable of emulating on your personal computer a full-fledged device with the Android operating system, version 4.2 Jelly Bean. Since the Andy emulator was released quite recently, it is designed for use on Windows 7 or Windows 8, this is its disadvantage. But the developers promise to soon launch a version on Mac OS. Among other things, the creators of the application are actively releasing regular updates and working to constantly improve their service.

For those who plan to use the emulator both on a computer and on a smartphone, the application has a useful function with which you can control all processes from your mobile device. Often, this function is needed in games and applications that require the use of a touch screen or accelerometer. You can download the emulator application to your smartphone for free. The characteristics of the Andy emulator allow you to install it on any standard computer and synchronize it with another device.

Genymotion

Genymotion emulator

An emulator that is considered one of the highest quality and fastest in its field. This application has been increasingly aimed at testing applications, and it is perfect for game and application developers. By and large, the Genymotion emulator is a continuation of the project - AndroidVM. Despite the fact that the main focus of the emulator is testing, it is also perfect for playing Android mobile applications on a personal computer with a different operating system. Genymotion download emulator will be installed without any problems on operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Mac OS. To prevent errors, the developers suggest installing VirtualBox before downloading the emulator itself.

Unlike other emulators, you can download Genymotion in both paid and free versions. Of course, the first will have more extensive functionality than the second. One of the attractive features of the paid version was Multi-touch, but it is increasingly aimed at use by large companies that are engaged in serious development. The free version has all the necessary features to fully use the emulator on your PC for basic needs. Please note that if you first create an Android image, the download will be much faster.

LeapDroid

Leapdroid emulator on PC

Android emulator, which has become one of the latest developments in its field. A new product, which, however, like other emulators, works on the basis of VirtualBox. That is, without installing the last mentioned program on your PC, you will not be able to use the emulator normally. After all the manipulations done, you will receive a full-fledged Android version 4.4.4. on your PC. One of the main features of the application is high performance, which has a good effect on the speed of work and downloads. Also, the LeapDroid emulator actively supports OpenGL and adb, you can use it at any time.

Work with a microphone to record videos of your screen. Also, the LeapDroid emulator has a high level of compatibility, which allows you to download almost any Android games and applications. The minimum requirements that the program requests are available on every ordinary computer, so you can rest assured of the quality of its work.

Nox APP Player

A completely new product from Chinese programmers that deserves high marks. Today the program works with Android version 4.4.2, which allows you to download and use all new games and applications from Google Play. The Nox APP Player emulator can easily be called one of the most stable and high-performance of all that exist today. It is so powerful that it can support any processor, even AMD. Another undeniable advantage of this application is that it is completely free and available for download for all users.

Having visited the official website of the developer, we found a comparison table, which shows that the Nox APP Player emulator wins in many respects in relation to other emulators. Its only drawback is the lack of a version for Mac OS, but it is only a matter of time; the developers will soon correct this error. In terms of external design, you can find similarities with the Genymotion emulator, as evidenced by the right side panel with a number of tools, and the control keyboard setup is similar to the keyboard in the Droid4X emulator, but in addition to this, here you will also find gyroscope settings. All in all. The developers have collected all the best from other emulators, improved it a little, added new features and released Nox APP Player.

AMIDuOS

One of the few emulators developed by the American company American Megatrends. The hypervisor function is what distinguishes AMIDuOS from other emulators. With this emulator you will install an Android device on your computer that will work seamlessly with Windows OS. Unfortunately, for now the program is available for download only on Windows 7/8/8.1. Thanks to the full screen mode, you can run downloaded games and applications in full screen. This emulator reads all the codes so well that you will not see any differences in the gameplay between a PC and a smartphone.

The Android emulator AMIDuOS defines shared folders for various files (documents, videos, audio, etc.). In addition to the fact that the program copes well with its direct responsibilities, it will help you perform other additional settings. These include obtaining and setting up root rights (administrator rights), setting the screen resolution, dividing the RAM allocated for work, and installing Google applications on the computer.

YouWave

A simple emulator of Android 4.0 ICS version. The product is quite effective and works as standard in its field. What makes YouWave different is that it copies your Android device as accurately as possible, from the interface to the touch keyboard. In addition to its main task, it also performs other functions, for example, it emulates SD cards on which it saves games and applications or multiplayer modules. The menu is displayed here in a fairly classic way, in the form of standard icons.

But this emulator also has a feature that distinguishes it from other emulators: it supports active rotation of the device. This feature makes the gaming experience more convenient. You can download games and applications both from Google Play and from archived files. The latter option is more practical, easy to use and convenient to run. If you nevertheless chose the first download option, the application will ask for a personal Google ID. And only after that you will be able to use the YouWave emulator for its intended purpose.

Windroy

Not a bad achievement by Chinese developers. An emulator that performs all the basic tasks and is perfect for those who do not require a wide range of functions. This program will qualitatively and accurately simulate the Android OS, version 4.4.2. Technical characteristics will allow you to use your PC like a real smartphone. With it you can play all kinds of Google products. If you want to bypass the Play Market, you can always install programs from archived files, it will be both faster and of better quality.

The application has fairly high performance and speed, and also supports all versions of Windows without conflicts. If you are the owner of a touch screen computer, laptop or tablet, then this program is a real find for you. It will transfer all the codes so efficiently that you won’t even notice the difference.

MEmu App Player

Quite recently a new and very nice Android emulator MEmu has appeared. And its first advantage was free installation for all users. This product was created by Chinese developers who promise high performance and speed when downloading Android games and applications on PC. OS version 4.2.2 is used, and in the program you automatically gain administrator rights (root). In this emulator you will be provided with a stylish desktop and a number of settings that you can play with for several hours.

To make you feel more comfortable during the gameplay, the developers have provided keyboard and joystick mapping. Perform quick installation of archive files using APK drag and drop. Here you can create, delete or copy any Android system in a matter of seconds or run several at once. MEmu App Player is an excellent choice, by making it you will find a high-quality emulator that does its job perfectly.

We launched all ten emulators and this is what happened

Greetings, dear tablet computer lovers. In today's article I have made a selection of the best, in my opinion, emulators of the Android operating system for Windows OS. Also, based on all the material received, I will try to highlight the best Android emulator.

The Android application store contains several hundred thousand different software products, both paid and free. Such an abundance of applications makes this operating system, along with iOS, one of the most popular and in-demand mobile operating systems in the world.

It is absolutely logical that with such, I’m not afraid to say, enormous popularity, various emulators appear on PCs, allowing you to open applications developed for Android on a regular platform. Below you can find a list of the most prominent and high-quality representatives of emulators for Android.

Genymotion

This emulator is perfect for testing your applications created for the Android operating system, all this is available thanks to the built-in OpenGL hardware acceleration. In the past, this project (emulator) was called Android VM, gradually it grew into a full-fledged one, and in my opinion, one of the highest quality products of its kind available.

Genymotoin software tool is a multi-platform emulator, which means that it is available for most operating systems such as: Windows, MacOS, Linux.

Of the large number of advantages and capabilities of this software tool, I would like to note the following:

  • Quite an impressive base of supported devices for emulation. At the same time, the database is constantly updated, which, of course, is good news;
  • Allows you to emulate a connection via a Wi-Fi network;
  • Emulation of rear and front video cameras on the device;
  • Ability to create screen casts.

This, of course, is not a complete list of all the advantages of this tool. I deliberately did not touch on some possibilities because... they are unlikely to be understandable to the average PC user.

Despite all the capabilities and advantages of this emulator, of course there are also disadvantages, where would we be without them?.

  • Applications created using Adobe Air Mobile are not supported by this emulator.

If you don’t know which tool to choose, I recommend starting your search with this emulator.

Windroy

Emulator website - socketeq.com

The emulator is the creation of Chinese developers. Of course, this program does not reach the level of the previous one, but it can still be used as an alternative tool. No special capabilities or advantages were noticed.

I would like to note the speed of this emulator; it is indeed somewhat higher than the speed of other tools. But, coupled with the number of “brakes” and “glitches”, this seemingly tangible plus fades. Perhaps by the time you read this article, the developers have eliminated the most obvious shortcomings and bugs. Suitable for Windows XP, 7, 8.

BlueStacks

Not quite an emulator, in the usual sense of the word. This product is rather an environment for running Android games on a personal computer running the Windows operating system. If you're looking for an emulator just to run games, you won't find a better tool than this one.

Among the advantages that this emulator has, I would like to note the fairly good speed of the application.

YouWave for Android

A small, simple program for emulating the Android operating system. If you compare it with other representatives of XP, 7,8) from this list, then YouWave is one of the most used tools. Still, simplicity and an intuitive interface are the two most important qualities of a good emulator.

In fact, this tool is not an emulator - it is rather an Android application development environment that includes, which is completely understandable and natural, tools for testing and debugging created applications.

If you need an emulator for more complex purposes than “testing a toy,” then you can choose this tool. Available for most operating systems, including PC Windows (XP, 7.8).

If none succeeded to start

If you were unable to run any emulator, then you can use these. Because I haven’t tested them on myself, so I can’t say anything about them. Perhaps they will work great for you:

Andy is a new emulator, according to some users, it currently works without additional dances with a tambourine. I'll test it.

Nox APP Player is a good option.
